1. Job content Job purpose: To assist procurement specialist in buying and promotion activities to meet the needs of customers and reach dept. business objectives like sales, profit, stock targets, etc. 2. Job dimensions Decision making/ freedom to act - Propose and preparation of articles listing, supplier negotiation, promotion offer and shelf display. - Supplier and article maintenance in system according to standard buying SOP. 3. Key responsibilities & accountabilities Key responsibilities - Assist Specialist with supplier meeting preparation and also supplier negotiation to achieve better condition. - Assist and coordinate buying and promotional activities to achieve objectives of sales& profit. - Assist Specialist to ensure stock and shelf management. - Assist Specialist in market survey and research in order to make proper analysis to identify customers’ needs and sales opportunities. - Assist Specialist in monitoring product category performance in terms of pricing, promotion, assortment, product quality, product planning and allocation. - Key Accountabilities - Ensure on-shelf availability of products in respective dept. - Ensure timely update and integrity of master data. - Ensure prompt feedback to related dept., store and supplier contacts on daily business. - Ensure proper filing and documentation according to company standard request. 4. Working relationships Internal: - Buyer, Buying Teams - Sales & Marketing functions - Admin dept. such as MCD, IM, Tax, Finance, SCM, Controlling, etc External: - Suppliers - MGL - Target Customers (e.g. horeca, trader, institute CBU) Job Profile 5. Skills & experiences Skills: - Fluency in both Mandarin and English languages preferred (both written and oral), good communication skill and computer skill. - Sensitivity in data analysis Experiences: - Minimum 2 years of merchandising experience within the retail sector on relevant category. 6. Personal qualities Seniority, age: - University degree, preferably in Economics, Business Management or category related subjects (i.e. food related major is preferred for food dept. candidate). Personal attribution: - Active, open-minded and strong commercial sense. Can work under stress. Analytical & strategic competence: - Ability to prioritize important and urgent tasks - Problem solving ability - Good learning ability Leadership: - Ability to communicate own target, perspective and purpose of action - Ability to coordinate and integrate Social skills: - Ability to work as part of a team - Reliability - Negotiation talent
