Section I - Position Summary







Our ongoing growth has resulted in the need for a Software Test Automation Engineer to assist with the testing and ongoing development effort for our vision engineering product. You would report to our Vision Engineering Team but work in close conjunction with QA and release engineering. While everyone on our software QA team is expected to contribute to the development of automated test scripts, your contribution is to build and maintain an automation framework and to take a step back looking for automated solutions to tough testing problems. As a member of one of LMI's agile software development teams you will work with several teams of software engineers as well as QA testers to develop, document, and maintain comprehensive automated test cases for various software features. You will work with other members of the QA team in all activities such as requirements validation, feature testing, and integration/release testing. Successful candidates should be professional, resourceful, and can work well autonomously yet still communicate effectively with a close-knit group of about 10 - 20 engineers.







Section II - Typical Duties, Activities, Responsibilities











● Work closely with test leads and vision developers to design test plans and strategies based on design documentation and requirements.



● Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts across multiple product ranges and multiple platforms.



● Frequently execute feature and bug fix testing using a combination of manual and automated testing techniques.



● Provide accurate task estimates and status reports.



● Review Product requirements/specifications and other technical documentation to ensure testability and completeness.



● Develop automated functional and performance tests



● Collaborate closely with Vision Engineering, Product Management and Field Application Engineering to analyze and resolve issues.



● Proactively contributes to and implements continuous improvement initiatives



● Adheres to LMI Employee Policy Manual. 







Section III – Education and Qualifications







● Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent)



● Knowledge of concepts and methodologies of QA



● Experience with Agile development processes



● Minimum five years experience working in fast-paced software development and testing settings



● Proficient in programing/scripting languages: C/C++, Python, Javascript



● Experience developing automation frameworks, test tools, and automated tests



● Experience working with Source Control systems such as GIT, SVN, or CVS



● Experience with software tools such as JIRA, TestRail, FishEye



● Experience with image processing software



● Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, and signal generator
