Title: Senior Commodity Buyer

General Description: 

Manage supplier base for existing prototype and serial materials, develop new suppliers, and maintain competitive pricing while balance quality and delivery performance.



Key Accountabilities:

• Support & execute commodity strategies

• Meet even exceed cost reduction target from Business Unit

• Resolve commercial & systematic delivery issues from suppliers



Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in engineering, business or related field

• Min 5- year experience in supply chain, better automotive and/or manufacturing. CPM /CPSM certification preferred. 

• Familiar with drawings, specifications, materials and manufacturing process.

• Required good written and verbal English communication skills, presentation skills and negotiation skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage current suppliers for existing materials. Emphasis on cost reductions. Track, coordinate and improve supplier quality & delivery performance. 

• Timely sourcing to support new program. The selection should comply with BW commodity strategy and procedure. Lead TFC, APQP kick off meeting, release tooling POs and concerned activities, finish commercial negotiation and process till hand over to Material team.

• Supplier change management. 

• Support global commodity strategy.

• Explore new technology and implement best practice related to purchasing activities

• Evaluate component design with cross functional team to optimize efficiency. 

• Lead casting, chain ,magnet and screw machine sourcing work and support prototype 

sourcing
