 Job Responsibility:

•The primary function of the Business Development Manager is to promote Trelleborg by showcasing market oriented solutions and services in joint development projects to and in collaboration with the Marketing Companies.



•Strategic: 

Supporting Marketing Companies by managing and driving the segment sales and marketing for e-Mobility across the Asia Pacific, and collaborate globally.

Provide in-depth knowledge of applications and products for each of the e-mobility sub-segments.

Develop and executing a business plan in collaboration with the Marketing Companies for the activities in e-Mobility to include detailed budgets with sales, profit, cost and resource targets and specific strategies for selected customer.

Identifying the people resources required to support the segment regionally. (R&D, Marketing, Application Engineering etc).

Assist in establishing strategic relationships with selected service, equipment and product suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain in collaboration with Purchasing.

Identifies gaps in products and materials and works appropriately with R & D, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to fill agreed upon gaps based upon business case approval. List out sources of products for the different applications



•Operational: 

Assist Marketing Companies with technical questions and concerns including the training of application and sales engineers on how to target e-Mobility applications across industries from a technical and commercial perspective.

Ensure that appropriate resources are made available to support the initiatives, liaising with the relevant departmental managers across the organization.

Preparing suitable presentation material and/or films to the Marketing companies to promote e-Mobility

Provide competitive and market intelligence to allow for strategic planning and when necessary tactical responses to the market. Working in collaboration with the Market Intelligence Team to ensure alignment of industry trends.

Establish and manage effective links with Product Managers, factories, Marketing Companies and Key Account Managers globally.

Track project pipeline for the segment and establish a forecast of sales expectations and takes corrective actions in agreement with Marketing Companies to ensure pipeline is on track to meet sales expectations.

Complete a monthly report on activity to also include sales pipeline and successful wins (which is the key element).

Assist Marketing Companies with quality related issues.

Provide reports and updates to the appropriate Marketing President, Global Segment Director and the EB as required. 

Participate in budget setting for the segment and align with the Marketing Companies on segment growth intiatives 

Work with Marketing Communications to establish branding and marketing campaigns and participate in industry associations and events.

Support of global activities as requested

Additional duties may be assigned by management 

 

•Responsible for Customer Relationship management portal in terms of checking new requests for quotations, project management downloads and customer specification exchange



Requirements:

• 10+ years management experience in engineering (or sales) related field

• University degree. (Engineering preferred) 

• Market experience within e-Mobility will be an advantage

• Strong Technical aptitude beneficial. Must be mechanically inclined.

• Must be able to read and understand technical prints

• Strong knowledge of business sales and marketing practices in the region

• Knowledge of plastics and elastomers would be an advantage

• Sensitivities of doing business in the region
