Job Description:

 

6-8 / 8-12 years of Oracle Production support experience as ORACLE DBA (Oracle 9i, 10g/11g / 12c Oracle RAC) on Linux, AIX, Solaris and Windows platforms

Create upgrade and migration schedules and plans in a way so as to minimize the impact on production and mission critical systems

Experience in Oracle Database installation, configuration, support

Oracle RAC installation, configuration, Support

Database creation, Database Estimation/Sizing, Licensing

Experience with Oracle Replication (Streams, Advanced replication, Materialized views)

Very good knowledge and experience of Backup and Recovery – RMAN including exposure to plan and strategize backup and recovery operations

Very good SQL and Shell scripting knowledge, cron jobs, dbms jobs

Excellent in Database(Primary/Standby) troubleshooting skills, Analyse SQL Query performance and Performance Tuning using AWR, ADDM

Improve application performance through regular Health Checks and Performance Tuning.

Proactive on-going tuning of database objects and structures to improve operational efficiency.

Analyze databases for worst performing SQL and coordinate with application support or development teams to tune application code

Set up, document, and execute procedures for regular tuning and maintenance of database structures according to service provider and industry best practices.

Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) configuration and trouble shooting

Management of database resources (assignment of tablespaces, space in HD, update system parameters, etc.)

Management of corporate monitoring tools: OEM, RMAN, SolarWinds, Toad, Oracle SQL Developer; monitoring of events associated with the applied technologies

User and Security management, Access review

Sound knowledge of Oracle RAC clusters, ASM, Dataguard, 10g/11g/12c Grid control

Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)

Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required

Database/Grid Patch Management and Version Control

Preferred managing the replication solutions with Data Guard / Active Data Guard / Far Sync

Report root cause and provide recommendations to ensure issue does not recur. Take all steps necessary to implement recommendations. 

Coordinate with DB vendors for any Database related issues or patches, track issues through service calls and communicate users/business team on status.

Sound knowledge to co-ordinate with Oracle corporation support/ Metalink SR support

Perform Vulnerability assessment test on the database and report the same with remedial measures. Maintain Minimum Security Baselines (MSB) as best practices for the organization.

OCP 10g/11g/12c RAC and ITIL V3 Certification - preferred

Excellent & Effective Communication Skills

Must Have Mandarin and English speaking skills

Added advantage Cantonese skills
