Project Requirement Document (PRD) for Station Software DRI



Project Description

HWTE is looking for an Engineering Services candidate with a strong EE/CS/CE Engineering background and excellent communication and management skills. Factory locations are in China, and the project calls for periodic support for Cupertino build dry-runs and software development and validation activities between builds. Candidate would be expected to travel to Cupertino for some training.



Software development

• Development of Atlas plug-ins for interfacing to new test instrumentation.

• Development and support of Rush-based station and process test scripts.

• Some support and update of existing DMX and Helios software.

• Porting code from older Helios/Optikos into new Helios 2.0 environment.

• Working on validation of C-based image processing algorithms vs. Matlab-based solutions, and automating this process.

• Integration and testing of new software into existing setups, and liaising with China factory on running validation DOEs.

• Participating in peer-reviews of software (Phabricator).



Station bring-up

• Fixture & Test Instrumentation setup including the stations in Dry run & main lines at multiple vendor sites

• Station SW validation and Overlay creation. Need to compare limits with ERS and verify Apple SFS. (PDCA)

• Basic debugging skill of logging into unit, performing operations on and issuing commands to unit and retrieving and reporting pertinent logs.

• Parametric data analysis & integrity check. 

• Supporting parallel-path bring-up of new Atlas-based display test stations in the China factory, working with Apple DRIs on running off-line DOEs.



Station/Project Status Reporting

• Reporting station bring-up status and results 

• Reporting software project status, timeline updates, Radar tracking updates.

• Regular check-ins with team / manager on software project progress.

• Weekly status updates via email.



Weekly Progress Reporting

• Include: Who worked on the project for a given period? What was accomplished?

• Invoices should be sent in a timely manner. OK2Pay based on above reported work.

Communication 

• Fluent English in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

• Knowing the technologies which apply to the test station 



Other Requirements and Clarifications (All dates and locations subject to change)



• To support the above task, we will need a full time engineer who is proficient in software development, as well as station design and instrumentation control.

• Engineer should be available to travel to Cupertino at a moment’s notice for training and dry run.

• Engineer should also be willing to travel to the CM sites in China for DOE and some build support

• Able to meet all the expectations/goals in the SOW provided.

• Hold visa/work permits to be able to travel/work in China/USA

• Background check as appropriate



Base Location: Nanjing/Kunshan/Wuxi/Suzhou

Travel required: 20%-25%
